Ok, so we decided to feature our own cars first! Just one of the advantages of being part of Car and Model.

There are many things different with the Type R when compared to the GSR model right below it. The most obvious difference is the motor. The Type R has 195hp compared to the GSR's 170hp. The main reasons for this power difference include: higher lift camshafts, higher compression, hand ported and polished cylinder head, straight through intake manifold, and more aggresive air/fuel mapping. The pistons, rods and crankshaft are all forged to handle the extra power and higher rpm's. The Type R also has 5 lug wheels as opposed to the other Integra's 4 lug design. This is usually the easiest way to tell a real Type R from a copy, although not foolproof. Don't forget the interior, it has Recaro-style cloth with red stitching that also tell you this car is different. These cars are a night and day difference between the lower models and worth ever penny for the upgrade. Many owners paid thousands over invoice at the dealers just to get one of these unique vehicles.

  Question & Answer

What kind of times do you run?

It's funny that's the first question out of almost everyone's mouth when talking about the car. I don't drag race this car since it's designed to be much more competitive as a track or autocross machine. I've been to Buttonwillow, Thunderhill and Laguna Seca for open track high performance driving events hosted by companies such as Unlimited Laps and Open Track. I find it much more fun then driving in a straight line.

Do you also show the car?

I've shown the car at a couple Hot Import Nights and Import Revolution shows as well as Import Saga and Import Showcase in Northern California. I've won a few 2nd and 3rd place trophies along the way but really just entered for fun.

Do you have to wear sunglasses when looking under your hood?

Yeah, there is a little bit of chrome under the hood. I think it's subtle enough that it's not over doing it. Most people like the engine bay the most and it usually stops them when they walk by at the shows.
