Part two of Car and Model's 2005 SEMA Show coverage begins at the outside of the Las Vegas Convention Center where a whole fleet of tricked out cars and trucks screamed for attention.
We then wandered into the South Hall briefly to catch a few booths that we didn't get to in Part 1 of our coverage. One of the highlights was a bright orange Toyota Supra in the American Racing booth done up in a Dukes of Hazzard theme and appropriately named "General Li." It wasn't the only Dukes-themed car we'd run into while at SEMA, as we later saw West Coast Customs' own interpretation with a 2006 Dodge Charger.
In the Central Hall, Honda had a large presense promoting the new 2006 Civic with a large booth showcasing what many aftermarket tuners have done with this new model. The Civic has always been a popular tuner car, and the 2006 model is sure to continue the streak.
While the focus of the lower level of the South Hall was on performance tires and wheels, the Central Hall was devoted mainly to racing and performance and the North Hall devoted to mobile electronics, restyling, car care, and accessories. With so much eye candy, everyone is trying to out do everyone else with their booths because more eyeballs mean more potential business. In the mobile electronics area where car interiors are where the products will live, you'll find some of the wildest work in all of SEMA with no expenses spared.
Sometimes the cars alone don't seem to do the trick, but no doubt pairing up that wicked car with a beautiful model without a doubt will get the attention of even the worst attention-deficit male. Cars and models...what could be better?
