I'm sure I'm not the only one attending that was surprised by this event. The moment we arrived we could hear several cars tearing up the parking lot that had been transformed into the Drift Showoff. These drivers were going all out for the entertainment of the crowd and didn't seem incredibly concerned with the clearance of walls or other cars. In fact several cars came in contact with the walls causing mostly cosmetic damage to their incredible cars. Drivers ranged from locals to professionals flown in from Japan including Yoshinori Koguchi, Seigou Yamamoto, Bai, and Fumiaki Komatsu (AKA Drifter X).
In conjunction with the drifting there was also a fairly large car show which was designed to pit the Japanese against the best of the Euro cars. Overall a great assortment of vehicles entered including a Lamborghini, and several Nissan Skylines. Manufacturer's reps from Falken Tires, Endless and Bomex were on hand to show off some of their latest products as well.
