The Dallas Convention Center was the site for a HIN shootout amongst some of the top teams in the nation. Under NCCA points, both New Image Motorsports and TWC are one and two in team points. Both came out with their top set of vehicles in pursuit of top team honors for the 2008 season. Not far behind these two teams were several cars from Emotion representing as well. Lastly, we can't forget the local Texas favorite, Team 16Niss that brought out 20+ show cars, showing that Texas always does it big. And big is an understatement for this HIN.
Cars and models, HIN Dallas didn't disappoint in the quality and quantity. Along with the representation of several top teams in the nation, there was also the largest collection of Skylines and Supras that I myself have seen at any event in nearly ten years of competing. The new GT-Rs were well represented numbering in the half dozen range with a few sporting aftermarket wheels and engine trimmings.
Models were everywhere and almost every team had models including Michelle Zen representing TWC as well as booth models like PASmag's Nicolette, the NOS Naughty Girls like Alicia Whitten and Corissa Furr and also Erika Medina and Tianna Ta with Boost Mobile. Model Central had some local favorites and visitors like DJ Sophia Lin, Melissa Paradise, Carolina Spidel and Jenny Chu doing double duty go-go dancing as well.
Then there was the entertainment. Ranging from your fashion show to b-boy battles, with performances from Navigator and, of course, Texas' own SoReal Cru performing for the large Dallas crowd on both the Boost Mobile Urban Stage and the new Suzuki Stage.
When the dust settled, it was TWC beating out New Image Motorsports for hottest overall team. Team 16Niss took home the honors for team participation. And for the elites, it's no surprise hearing elite names like Huynh, Shih, Witkin, Wang, and Sanchez. But, it was Kenny Vinces taking Best of Show Radical with his Honda Civic, and Ryan Ramnarian taking top performance honors with his IS300.
The season is coming to a close.... What team and person can claim the top spots for 2008? Was Dallas HIN a glimpse of those future honors? Or will there be a dark horse or two jumping ahead of the pack in these final events of the year? 2008 has definitely been an exciting season for competitors and car enthusiasts alike.
