Dubfest hosted import cars from across the other pond, that being the Atlantic Ocean. This event showcased vehicles from VW, Audi, BMW, Mercedes Benz, and Porsche. Car mods included cosmetic as well as performance upgrades and varied from the mild to the wild extremes. Of all of the cars, there was one that really stood out to me, it was a silver Karmann Ghia. The lines and curves of this beauty were beautiful, classic, and elegant. On the other end of the scale for current beauty was the new Audi R8 mid-engine sports car. The R8 evokes a new design style for Audi and it is also the halo car for their company. For a little over $100K, the R8 looks like a pretty good bargain considering the performance it provides as well as exclusivity due to limited production numbers.
If you got your fill of cars at Dubfest, you could run around in the the tent that was set up by Mobile Combat. Their infrared tag arena allows you to go head to head against your buddies with paintball guns but without having to worry about cleaning up. IR technology is pretty cool stuff. Or if you want to mellow out with a good smoke, you could also head to the Al Fakher hooka lounge where they had a variety of flavored tobaccos products.
