HIN rolled into Austin this past Saturday for the first Nightshift show of 2008 and the first visit to the state's capitol. Nightshift is a relatively new breed of motorsports event bringing all the dazzle of Hot Import Nights with the excitement of drifting and sport bike stunting, all together in one event.
On the main stage there was a MC Battle and live performances by Lloyd, Lil Keke and Rob G. Combined with the Go-Go dancers they kept the crowds bumping all night.
On the track, the drift demonstration kept the audiences on the edge by tearing up the asphalt sideways. Wild machines with over 300+ HP smoked tires while drivers showed how to control these beasts. Sport bikes stunt star Kane One and others came out to show what living on the edge really means. Over at the Boost Mobile MX were some of craziest guys at the show who repeatedly jumped over their trailer reaching heights of more than 30 feet. These guys must have brass b@!!s to do back flips mid-air, even letting go of the bikes at times, despite the 15+mph winds!
What HIN event would be complete without several of the Nation's hottest cars on display competing in the NCCA Car Competition for trophies and cash prizes. Some of the models from the tour that appeared in Austin included KT-So, Jae Angel, Erika Medina, Pearl Nalani, Melissa Paradise, Jenny Chu, Corissa Furr and Alicia Whitten.
The next stop for the HIN team is Hot Import Nights DC, which is technically in Chantilly, VA. Be sure to get your tickets for April 19th. Online ticket holders are always the first ones into the show. Use code "carandmodel" for a $5 discount off online ticket purchases.
